Ethiopian calendar is based on the old Alexandrian or Coptic calendar, but like the Julian calendar it adds leap day every four year without exception.
Ethiopian calendar has twelve months of 30 days each and a thirteenth month with five days; the thirteenth month(Pagume) will have six days every four years. Ethiopian new year usually falls on either September 11 or 12.
Name of the months: Meskerem, Tikimit, Hidar, Tahisas, Tir, Yekatit, Megabit, Meyazya, Ginbot, Sene, Hamle, Nehase, Pagume
Name of the days: Segno(Monday), Maksegno(Tuesday), Erob(Wednesday), Hamus(Thursday), Arb(Friday), Kidame(Saturday), Ehud(Sunday)
This app displays Ethiopian calendar with official Ethiopian holidays and optional religious fasting days. The app also supports displaying geez numerals.
Enjoy.
Latest reviews of Meskerem app for iPhone and iPad
Ive been looking for a decent Ethiopian calendar thats updated and has all holidays. This one is perfect. Suggestion- 1) If you can include European calendar and sync it with our phone, it will help a lot on setting reminders. 2) Add an option to select any day in the future or in past for conversion.
Your app is very great! It helped me a lot in my day to day activities here in Ethiopia. My suggestion is 1.Make the days selectable so that we can see the matching European calendar. 2. Make the holidays in red font, so that we can easily see the holiday instead of list. 3. May be converter from Ethiopian calendar to European calendar. Thanks!
I hate this app but looks fast and its not show all holiday in Ethiopia that means u are not like us
